About

Beverley Stewart 1

Hi, I'm Beverley

I want to offer you new perspectives, practical support, and the opportunity to feel truly heard. My goal is to help my clients put back the joy and meaning in their lives.

I firmly believe that by helping a client better understand themselves, and equipping them with some simple tools, they can grow to become the person they always wanted to be.

These days we can find ourselves trying to be someone (or something) that people expect of us. This can make it difficult to trust anyone with our inner most thoughts and feelings.

In therapy with me, you can feel free to let your guard down and be your true self. You don’t have to be someone else; you can talk openly about your issues and you’ll never be judged. This is a space where you can be comfortable being honest with me, and honest with yourself.

Together we’ll work on a path that gets you where you really want to be, and importantly puts you back in the driver’s seat of your life

Why I'm a therapist?

Quite simply, I’ve been there. I’m a middle-aged woman and, like you, I’ve gone through my fair share of challenges in life. When I’ve come to those “forks in the road”, making decisions has sometimes been hard for me. I’ve not always made the right ones, but they were mine. I often found myself stuck in my life circumstances and feeling trapped, unable to get free. I've felt overwhelmed, disillusioned, lost.

Looking back, life would have been easier if I’d had the support of someone that truly listened to me and wanted to be on my team, someone that wouldn’t make me feel judged or alone in my struggles, someone I felt a true connection with. So that’s what I want to do for you – ride alongside while you find your way to where you want to go.

While your challenges are unique, I understand how hard it is to get over those big hurdles that come our way throughout life. I know how hopeless you can sometimes feel, but I also know there’s a way out and a positive future ahead.

Working Together

I’m a firm believer in helping you help yourself. I won’t tell you what to do, but instead will help you land on decisions that are right for you. All therapists must be warm, empathetic and non-judgemental – so I won't mention that. But I think you’ll also find me hard to shock, honest with you about what I’m thinking and feeling, and determined to help you move forward. By working together, my goal is to provide you with a new set of skills and understandings about yourself so that you no longer need to see me anymore!

I want you to feel that within therapy, you have a safe space to share whatever you’ve been unable to say to others. I always feel so privileged that my clients trust me to do this. This safe space is also important to allow us both to share our perspectives, which may at times be different. That’s ok. Therapy is all about getting a different view of things so that we can feel and think differently about our situation.
